Disabled But Not Really (DBNR) is a non-profit organization that was founded by Wesley Hamilton in 2015.

As founder of Disabled But Not Really (DBNR), I’m shaking things up in the world of disability awareness and adaptive fitness. Those with disabilities need encouragement to move past their physical and mental challenges — our dreams matter too. Years ago, I suffered from a spinal cord injury after being shot multiple times. A profound depression sent me to a dark place. Then, I discovered a passion for nutrition and fitness. I’ve moved on to become an award-winning adaptive athlete and entrepreneur. DBNR’s mission is to educate and empower individuals with disabilities, improving awareness and inspiring new goals. We provide fitness grants to individuals with disabilities who want to focus on fitness but can’t afford the training. We also support the local KC community through Hydrate the Homeless, which provides water and care packages to those who are less fortunate. Advocating for mentally and physically healthy lifestyles is invigorating — just wait until you see what’s next!
